How it started
I was licensed by the Law Society of Ontario in 2001. I established my private practice in 2003 in Whitby, Ontario, after completing my articles and practicing as an in-house legal counsel for a national health sector organization. I refined my skills as an in-house counsel for the hospitals in my community as a dedicated advocate through my independent practice. After 16 years, I then moved on to proudly represent a diverse roster of clients, including hospice, community health centres, and a shared services organization. In addition to my law degree, I have an undergraduate degree in bioethics.
Beyond my legal practice, I actively contribute to my community. Currently, I serve as a volunteer on the board of the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region, where I am the Past Chair of the Board. I’ve also volunteered on the research ethics board at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, demonstrating my commitment to ethical healthcare practices.
When I’m not advocating for my clients, you’ll often find me at my beloved cottage in Kawartha Lakes, where I cherish the tranquil surroundings. As an avid gardener, I find solace in tending to my garden and embracing the beauty of nature.
My mission
To be a catalyst for transformational change in the healthcare system and improve it for everyone. I’m passionate about finding innovative ways for organizations to work together and provide top-notch care to people, no matter where they are — be it a hospital, home, or care facility. My focus is on being part of the solution and driving transformational change. Together, let’s create a future where healthcare in Ontario is accessible, seamless, and truly patient-centred.
